Why Do We Worship?
Jesus said, “Do this in memory of me.” Why do we need to remember? Because we get busy and forget. Soon we think this life is all there is, and this world is all there is. Worship reminds us who God is, who we are, where we are going, and how to get there.
A Christian who does not regularly worship gets swallowed up by the world that surrounds them and soon becomes no different than their non-believing next door neighbors.
In His great wisdom, God has made the Sacraments channels by which the saving grace of the cross reaches our souls, we who live many years and many miles distant from the actions of Christ. The Sacraments come with God’s guarantee that if we do what He asks we WILL receive what He promises.
